Engaging in therapy takes effort and emotional strength for it to be effective. Each client has different expectations and reasons for coming to therapy, and are willing to invest in themselves to live their best lives. I know it may be difficult just to decide to allow me into your life, and want to be respectful of what each client brings to the therapy session.
When you come in for the first session, it is helpful to have the intake forms completed, so the initial session can be more productive. During this first session, we will mostly be getting a history of what brings you to counseling, so an accurate diagnosis can be made. After the first session, we will work on goals and objectives we discussed in the initial session.
